History of Legacy

Andrei Constantinescu has always loved film and television.  Andrei’s mom says that Andrei loved television even when he was very little.  Around two or three years of age, he was quoting lines from shows and even knew the actors.  One of Andrei’s earliest memories is entertaining his extended family with stories and jokes and wondering what else he could do or say to make them laugh.  From an early age, he knew he wanted to be an actor or work in the film industry.

After Andrei graduated from Lousiana Tech University with a MA in Theater, he was recruited to work as an extra.   He worked on several films as an extra and loved it!  He met Ryan Glorioso through an acting class and started working for Glorioso Casting.  Andrei assisted and coordinated the extras for several projects. Andrei also cast the Principal Roles for some non-union short films and worked as an actor, including a role in “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.”

In the fall of 2009, Andrei moved to New Orleans to cast with Liz Coulon, Coulon Casting.  His experiences in New Orleans gave him another view of extras casting and paved the way for his future move to Texas.  In July of 2010, Andrei moved to Dallas, Texas to work with Kina Bale of Cast-O-Matic on the FOX tv show, “Lone Star.”  Debi Michaelis of Cache Casting took over casting and Andrei worked with Debi on “Lone Star,” “Chase,” and the “GCB” pilot.

In the spring of 2011,  Andrei was hired to cast the extras for the “Dallas” pilot on TNT and Legacy Casting was officially born.  Now Andrei and the Legacy Casting team work on projects in Texas and Louisiana. Andrei’s goal is to use Legacy Casting to find and showcase new rising talent and to give other actors a start in the industry he loves.

A big shout of thanks to Ryan, Liz, Kina, Debi, Kate and Jay who have been amazing mentors and friends in the casting business.  Legacy Casting exists because of the wisdom and passion each of them shared with Andrei.

As we move forward with Legacy Casting, we are claiming the words that were spoken more than 2,000 years ago, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
